Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician Program
EKG (Electrocardiogram) Technicians perform ECG tests that record and monitor electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. An electrocardiograph (EKG) technician administers diagnostic cardiac tests to patients’ pre-surgery or to patients who may have cardiac problems; the tests help detect, and monitor medical conditions such as heart disease, arrhythmias, pericarditis, and angina. Students will learn about Safety, HIPPA, Patient Compliance and Coordinated Patient Care, Cardio Anatomy & Physiology, EKG Analysis and Interpretation, Video enhancements, Audio pronunciation of glossary terms. On week 4 students are required to report to class on Monday & Thursday from 12:00pm-2:00pm to practice 12-lead EKG placement skills on the mannequin and other students. After passing and completing this program, students will be eligible to sit for the EKG (Electrocardiogram) Exam through NHA (National Healthcareer Association).
